North Star Community Services is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide clerical assistance and office management for agency leadership at our Marshalltown and Vinton office locations. The person in this position must be able to comply with agency guidelines regarding confidentiality, demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, and take direction well.

Responsibilities include:

  • Organize and maintain records and databases
  • Answer phones, greet visitors, and provide general information
  • Complete data entry, word processing, and maintain multiple filing systems
  • Maintain office supply inventory
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail
  • Other duties as assigned

Applicants should have the ability to use Microsoft Office 365 suite, manage different tasks concurrently, work with accuracy and attention to detail. This is a Part time 20 hour position, Monday - Thursday, 5 hour days (3 days at the Marshalltown office and 1 day at the Vinton office). We are willing to negotiate days of the week and hours for the day.

High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience performing clerical duties required. Applicants must meet agency criteria for driving record and background checks.
